Sign-in and member areas

Visitors sign in, and members see what is theirs

Visitors sign in on your website with a code sent by email and see members-only content, their own entries and their bookings. You see who signed in, in the Cloud tab.

Key facts

Sign-in
With an email address and a six digit code that frascati sends in your website's name. No passwords, no sign-in with Google or Apple.
Codes
Valid for 10 minutes, with 5 tries. At most 5 codes per address an hour and 10 a day, and 300 per website a day. Asking for a code answers the same for every address, so nobody can find out who has an account.
Staying signed in
In the visitor's browser, on your website's own address; frascati keeps only a hash of the key. A sign-in ends after 30 days without a visit, when the person signs out, also on all their devices, or when you sign them out or delete the account.
Members only
A table of content can be shown to signed-in members only. frascati checks it on its server, so its entries never reach a visitor who is not signed in.
Own entries
A table of entries can let each signed-in member see their own entries again, never anyone else's, with every column, also one you add later, such as a status you set on each entry in the Cloud tab.
Own bookings
Bookings of times and of places in classes and events made while signed in, and earlier ones with the same email address, each with the usual link to view or cancel it.
Saved per person
Up to 50 records of 100 KB each, such as favorites or a plan, kept in the person's account.
In the Cloud tab
People with an account, with email, name, since when and when last seen. Sign a person out on every device or delete the account, and see in each table of entries which account sent what.
Plans
Included in every plan. Accounts use no credits; codes go out while your plan or trial runs. See pricing

How it works

  1. 01

Ask for it in the chat

Write what members should get, for example: “Make a members area: members sign in with a code by email and see the training plan and their own registrations.” frascati builds the sign-in and the members' pages, and sets who sees which table. Asking for it is a normal change and uses credits.

  2. 02

Visitors sign in with a code

A visitor enters an email address and gets a six digit code by email, in the language of your website. With it they are signed in on that browser until they sign out or stay away for 30 days.

  3. 03

    Members see what is theirs

Members-only content, the entries they sent and their bookings show on the pages frascati built for them. A visitor who is not signed in sees the sign-in instead.

  4. 04

You keep track in the Cloud tab

Under People with an account you see who signed in, sign someone out or delete the account. In a table, Visible to sets who sees its entries, and the column Member shows who sent each one.

What it does not do

  • No roles or member levels: everyone who is signed in sees the same members-only content, and there are no admins or editors among them.
  • Anyone with an email address can create an account. There is no invitation list and no approval of new members, so keep confidential documents off the website.
  • No sign-in with a password, Google or Apple.
  • Visitors cannot upload files or photos on a website. A phone app can send a photo with an entry.
  • No server code of your own: what runs on the server are frascati's tables, bookings, payments and AI.
  • Members see their own entries but cannot change or delete them. Bookings they cancel through the usual link.
  • A Stripe subscription is not tied to the sign-in: being signed in does not show that someone paid.
  • Text written into a page is public, like the rest of your website. Only the entries of members-only tables are protected.
  • Messages from contact forms are not linked to an account.

Questions

Do my visitors need a password?
No. They enter their email address and get a six digit code by email, valid for 10 minutes. There is no password to forget or to leak.
Who can sign in?
Anyone with an email address: the account is made when the code is entered. There is no invitation list or approval yet, so members only means signed in, not approved by you.
Is members-only content really protected?
The entries of a members-only table go from frascati's server only to visitors who are signed in on your website. Text written into a page is public like the rest of your website, so what is for members belongs in such a table.
Can customers see their bookings?
Yes. Ask for it, for example: “Customers should see their bookings after they sign in.” They see the bookings they made while signed in and earlier ones with the same email address, each with the link to view or cancel it.
Can I sign someone out?
Yes. In the Cloud tab, under People with an account, sign a person out on every device or delete the account. Deleting it deletes what they saved in their account; the entries and bookings they sent stay with you.
Does it cost extra?
No. It is part of every plan and uses no credits. The codes go out while your plan or trial runs.
